Long-term cooperation in the textile sector: Delegation trip to Vietnam opens up new perspectives for our company

Magdeburg/Hanoi, 05.12.2024 – As a medium-sized company based in Saxony-Anhalt and a leader in the production of workwear for the catering, hotel, medical and wellness sectors, our company focuses on quality, sustainability and global cooperation. At the invitation of Sven Schulze, State Minister for Economic Affairs, Tourism, Agriculture and Forestry, our Managing Director Thomas Karlowsky took part in a delegation trip to Vietnam last week to forge new strategic partnerships.

Vietnam – a link between history and the future
Our interest in Vietnam extends far beyond economic aspects. As early as the 1980s, the contract labour agreement between the GDR and Vietnam established close ties in the textile sector. Vietnamese workers made a significant contribution to East German textile factories and had a lasting impact on the industry. This shared history is not only an emotional point of reference for us, but also an incentive to build new, long-term relationships.

Long-term goals for sustainable success
The trip to Vietnam offered us a valuable opportunity to get to know the country’s textile industry better and create synergies. Our company focussed on three key objectives:

  1. Establishing new production facilities:
Our vision is to establish long-term partnerships with local companies that fulfil our high quality standards and social requirements. We attach great importance to compliance with globally recognised certifications and auditing standards. In this way, we not only want to produce high-quality workwear, but also make a positive contribution to fair working conditions.
  2. Recruitment of skilled labour and training partnerships:
In order to meet the increasing demand for specialised textile technicians and engineers, we see great potential in Vietnam. We are endeavouring to establish cooperation in the area of training that will secure qualified specialists for our company and the region in the long term. Here we are consciously building on Vietnam’s historical connection and expertise in the textile sector.
  3. Opening our own office:
In order to make our activities in Vietnam sustainable and have a local presence, we are looking into the possibility of opening our own office. This would enable us to intensify our cooperation with partners and provide direct support in the recruitment of skilled labour and production.

Responsibility and foresight
As a globally active company, we feel obliged to assume not only economic, but also social and ecological responsibility. The delegation trip to Vietnam is a further step on our way to creating sustainable structures and operating successfully internationally.

“Vietnam offers us the opportunity to expand our production at a high quality level and to draw on a long tradition of shared values in the textile sector. Our focus is on long-term partnerships and sustainable growth,” emphasised our Managing Director during the trip.

With a clear vision and a deep understanding of the importance of co-operation and tradition, we are committed to a strong connection between Saxony-Anhalt and Vietnam – a partnership based on quality, innovation and respect.
