Collection Report 2021 - Karlowsky Fashion GmbH

Sustainable and with a fresh breeze into the new year – Karlowsky sets new standards with “green” collection for medicine, care and wellness

Magdeburg, 2021 –With over 128 years of experience, Karlowsky Fashion GmbH is well established in the international market for workwear. Especially the areas of gastronomy and hospitality are impossible to imagine without the traditional company from Magdeburg, Germany. In addition to stylish basics, new and visionary ideas are constantly being implemented in the market, which quickly evolve into new trends in the scene. Since last year, Karlowsky has also been focusing on opening up new product areas. These include the medical, care, cosmetics and wellness sectors, which are reflected in the new Health&Beauty-Collection. To achieve a breakthrough in these sectors, the family-owned company is not only relying on its values of tradition, innovation and quality, but is also fully committed to sustainability.

In order to make the sustainable company guidelines clear in all product areas and collections, Karlowsky marks new ecologically sustainable workwear within the entire range with Green Generation®. The new Green Generation® products are made of certified sustainable materials such as organic cotton and recycled polyester. They continue to manufacture under globally fair production and working conditions. Also the products are still regularly tested for harmful substances. Karlowsky thus underlines the path to sustainable fashion that is already being taken today.

“Our Green Generation® products are an investment in the future of our planet and are designed to stimulate fundamental change.” This is how CEO Thomas Karlowsky summarizes a concept that will lead workwear into a sustainable future. “We want to offer our customers true sustainable quality products with the greatest possible transparency. This also includes the fact that we will additionally equip our products with the ‘Grüner Knopf’ certificate in order to provide our trading partners with another strong sales argument.” As a manufacturer, Karlowsky Fashion is thus living up to its leading role when it comes to sustainability – with workwear that not only shapes the present with its unconventional style, but also (co-)shapes the future by using sustainable materials.

HEALTH&BEAUTY

Sustainable workwear for medicine, care, wellness & cosmetics

The Health&Beauty-Collection, already launched at the beginning of 2020, will be significantly expanded in 2021. The polyester used in this collection is made of 100% recycled plastic and the cotton content is certified organic cotton. In the new collection there will be in the outerwear area a modern short sleeve slip-on tunic for women & men (KS 65 & KS 66) as well as a short sleeve tunic with snaps (KS 63) and a casual tunic to throw on (KS 64). The collection expansion in this fabric composition is rounded off with a multifunctional slip-on trouser (HM 14) and a new bandana (KM 30). The new line convinces with its high washability of up to 95° for clinically clean workwear and with super-lightweight material for a pleasant wearing comfort even in demanding work environments. The new products come in eleven fashionable, eye-catching colours and are therefore perfectly suited for a uniform corporate appearance

In addition to the mentioned slip-on pants, there will also be a working leggings (HF 10). With this new calf-length leggings, Karlowsky ventures into a completely new area of pants for the first time and immediately convinces with style and functionality. The leggings are made of 70% organic cotton and 25% recycled polyester. With the added high percentage of elastic fibre (5 % elastane), an enormous freedom of movement is guaranteed. On the backside there are two practical embroidered back pockets, which offer additional space for work equipment.

A trouser for all work areas can be found in the new 5-pocket work pants for ladies and men (HF 9 & HM 12). The stretch component ensures great freedom of movement – so the pants are perfectly equipped for all requirements. An additional factor is the certified cotton fabric, which not only guarantees high washability, but also supports the sustainable and ecological orientation of your own working day. The unique style of the pants is enhanced by cool new colours: a set, dark anthracite, a classic, clear night blue and a friendly, light pebble gray. These colours are complemented by the basic colours black and white. Both models will be available with three different inner leg lengths. So everyone will find his or her perfect size.

GASTRONOMY

Natural style for unique performance

The Workwear in Karlowsky’s traditional gastronomy sector is also becoming increasingly sustainable. The brand new Green Generation® chef jackets in long and short sleeves (JM 35 & JM 36) are made of 100% recycled plastic and organic cotton. The clever back made of jersey pique ensures optimal wearing comfort and provides also an outstanding breathability, even when it gets hot in the kitchen. With the colours pebble gray, cinnamon, eggplant, moss green and steel blue, the trend-conscious chef has a whole range of trendy natural shades to choose from. Thanks to the colours and playful details, the two chef jackets are the perfect match for the Green Generation® work aprons (LS 37 & VS 12) introduced last year.

Due to the tremendous demand, there will be additions to already existing articles in the coming year:

On the one hand, the two popular PERFORMANCE work shirts (TM 5 & TM 6) are now also offered in a short and long-sleeved ladies’ version (TF 3 & TF 4). The stylish stand-up collar and the small button strip at the neckline for a particularly sporty and classy look have been retained by the men’s models. However, the narrow silhouette of the men’s shirts has been specially adapted to the needs of women. In contrast to the men’s models, the small breast pocket has also been omitted for these models. In terms of material, nothing changes. The front part is also made of a twill fabric with cotton content, the jersey-piqué back part is made of polyester. This way the shirts remain breathable, regulate moisture and still offer enormous wearing comfort. Despite the sporty modern design and the functional material combination these work shirts are hard-wearing and washable up to 60 °C. In addition to the colours black, white, navy and anthracite, both versions for women and men will also be available in the new trend colour sage.

On the other hand, the two trendy chef’s jackets Jeans-Style for men and women (JM 24 & JF 20) will also be available in a short-sleeved version (JM 32 & JF 21). Besides Vintage Blue and Vintage Black, they will also be available in the popular and powerful Vintage Red. The authentic jeans style look is still ensured by the contrasting coloured topstitching and the asymmetrical cut of the button placket. The high washability at 60° to 95° also allows these models to be perfectly clean in professional gastronomy environments.
